With FlexTime you can watch a programme while it’s still being recorded, thanks to the extreme speed of a Hard Disk. You can also watch a different programme from the Hard Disk while it's recording something else.
With Instant Replay, you can relive magic movie moments and super sports scenes - any time you want. At the touch of a button, the hard disk will replay the last 30 seconds. Skipping further backwards requires nothing more than pressing the button again.
Pause Live TV puts you in absolute control. Once the recorder is turned on, a large built-in memory automatically starts recording the programme you are watching -- allowing you to pause, replay or save the programme, any time. If you need to take a break, you can pause your 'live' TV programme with just one touch of a button, and resume watching when it suits you.
Instead of the usual single digital tuner found in most set-top boxes, 2 digital tuners are included in this product to allow dual reception and flexible viewing of your favourite TV programmes. No more difficult choices to be made on which programme to miss! You can either record 2 programmes simultaneously or watch one show, while recording the other one.
SCART is an analogue connection to your TV, and signals are lost between digital to analogue video conversion. The HDMI connection allows you to connect this product to your TVs, sending the standard-definition data in digital format for your TV to enhance the signals, giving you a much better picture quality.
The hard disk allows you to record your digital TV programmes and pause the watching of a programme should you be interrupted. You can now plan in advance to record any programmes you may miss, without having to connect to any other devices. A 160 Gigabyte hard disk can record approximately 78 hours of average television programmes (e.g. a football match would require less storage space than a movie).
Philips DVRs offer the ultimate simplicity in enjoying your digital content right in the living room. Via its USB connection, media files such as MP3, JPEG and DivX can be transferred directly from a USB thumb-drive onto the integrated Hard Disk. Once the digital media is stored, the content can be very easily organised and played back on any TV or home theatre system.
Simply plug your device into the USB port on your set top box. Your digital music and photos will be played directly from the device. Now you can share your favourite moments with family and friends.
With a digital audio output, you can immerse yourself in the programme that you are watching and enjoy the surround sound that is being broadcasted in the TV programme. Simply connect a cable from the connector for digital audio output (this can be cinch or optical connector, depending on availability on the product) and the digital audio signals in the broadcasted programme will be output to the Dolby Digital certified home theatre system (or an audio amplifier) for processing into a 5.1 audio experience on the loudspeaker boxes.
