Learn about the parts of a CPAP mask

If you’re starting therapy, it’s helpful to understand how your mask and related components work – and when to replace them. Masks are used to deliver the air from your therapy machine to you. Most masks have built-in exhalation ports that vent your exhaled air.

    Headgear

(elastic straps and back) The headgear helps to ensure a comfortable and secure fit, holding the mask in its correct place during the night.

    No 2

    Tubing

The tube is critical for effective therapy. You have the option to use a heated tube connected to a humidifier to keep air moist. Look over your tube each night to make sure there are no cracks or other damage.

    Cushions and pillows

Nasal or pillow cushions provide a comfortable fit and seal.

    Frame

The unique DreamWear design allows air to flow through the mask frame itself.
