If you’ve ever watched or seen pictures from any sort of bodybuilding contest or men’s beauty pageant, you’ve probably noticed the near absence of body hair on the competitors. It won’t come as a surprise to hear that they don’t naturally look like that, but there’s a very good reason that they choose to go hairless, and it’s the same reason you might choose to do the same.
Whether you’re a gym junkie who works out five times per week or just an occasional jogger, trimming or shaving your body hair can give your muscles better definition and help you get the most out of what you’ve got. Body hair can completely cover the hard earned gains of a healthy active lifestyle, or at least make them less visible. If you’re heading to the beach or pool this summer, or even if you’re just intending to sunbath in your back garden, trimming your chest and back can be a great way to improve muscle definition.
While some like body hair and some don’t, you’re not going to find many people who are fans of seeing unruly tufts of hair sticking out of a pair of swimming trunks. So, whether you’re planning to wear board shorts this summer or show a bit more skin in swimming briefs, try them on before you go and take a look in the mirror. If you there is a significant amount of pubic hair visible, either above the waistline or around your legs, you’re probably going to want to tidy it up. You don’t have to go completely clean shaven of course, but giving longer hairs a trim will give you a more well-groomed appearance. Some things are best left to the imagination, even when you’re wearing swimming briefs.
