The perfect beard trimmer: waterproof, adjustable length, good battery life, just spin the head to use the precision trimmer, washable under the tap. What more do you need? My only issue is that now after 6-7 years the battery finally stopped holding its charge and I can't find another one, or a comparable product with all of the same features.

Superior design, robust build, user-friendly, improved performance and longer battery. I think a bit smaller design and a suction hair collection chamber (as in older models) would be added bonus.

I bought this based on my previous experience with Philips' men's grooming products, which has always been good. Again Philips have triumphed. A beard trimmer which is so versatile, tactile and gives great results. I am very pleased with the unit in every way. Great battery life, precision blades, ergonomic design and easy to use. A significant improvement on previous models. It is quiet, stylish and charges in a very short time. The adjuster is very positive and the minimum setting produces a fine, even stubble.

Really impressed by this model - for the first time it gives me flexibility on how I style my beard. Like the reversible trimmer.

I have very much enjoyed using this product. I have used previous versions and the new design is a big improvement. Its ergonomically very comfortable to use (albeit it is now quite large which can make it a little unwieldy for detail cutting) and the new adjustable cutting length via the barrel adjustment is excellent - far better than prior versions which could be prone to slippage when wet resulting in a shorter trim than required. The design is eye catching, good colours, looks very cool and again a big imporvement over previous versions. Battery life once charged is very good also.

I was very impressed by this product, not only does it trim very accurately to whatever style you wish, but it comes with an additional cap which you can attach to the shaving head. Once applied you can roll a very simple wheel which allows you to select how close you would like it to trim. This means it will trim all the hairs to the same length of which you require, or it allows you to keep some parts longer and some parts shorter. Not only this, but the cap comes off very easily for washing and you can also wash the head of the trimmer under the tap with no problems! This is by far one of my best purchases I've ever made! I have been using the Phillips StyleXpert Trimmer for over a week now and i am highly impressed. Its really easy to use compared to previous trimmers i have used, the lock in length settings work perfectly and the reversible trimmer makes it so easy to use. I will certainly be recommending this and looking at other Phillips grooming products as until now i have used other brands, however from now on!!

When it comes to grooming my beard I'm very particular as to the products I will and won't use to get the right look. Some days I want a Clint Eastwood-style thick Western movie stubble and then on others I want a Gerard Butler in 300 beard but finding a product that can do both is very tricky. I tried using a manual razor and comb combination but it was pretty much impossible to get a consistent length and I tried using my hair clippers but quickly realized that this wasn't the solution either. My dad has always used Philips products and liked them so I thought it might be worth giving their stuff a go which is how I ended up taking a punt on the Beard Trimmer 9000 model. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and it's been great so far, it's easy to use and the locked-in length setting mean that it's easy to maintain a nice consistent beard length without ending up looking like Craig David (although you can with this product if you really want to). The product has two trimmer sizes, a bigger one for beard trimming and a smaller trimmer for detailing - perfect for doing your sidies. It's also waterproof which is great for people like me whose grooming routine involves splashing lots of water about. I've got quite sensitive skin which is why manual shaving doesn't really work for me and so far using the BT5000 I haven't experienced any skin sensitivity which is great. It's a brill beard trimmer and definitely work a look for any young fellas looking to get the best beard they can.
