digital terrestrial television recorder

Before I bought the Digital Recoder, I was always having difficulty with other recorders that I used to buy,but this one is wonderful,both the pictures & the volume are so clear & that's why I love this Digital Recoder

Simple to instal and easy to follow instructions And the quality of video and audio is excellent

I bought this from Argos at the weekend because I got fed up with paying Sky for stuff that I don't really watch (and I'm not a fan of the Murdochs!). The box is a lot smaller than I expected, which is a bonus as I always found the Sky box to be a bit obtrusive, and because of the way my tv cabinet is, it stuck out of the front a little bit. This is much more compact, and the finish means that it sort of disappears in the cabinet. Setting it up was incredibly simple, and you really don't need the instruction manual as it's all so obvious. All of the channels were found in just a couple of minutes, and I'd swear they are actually a better quality than my Sky HD box had. If I have one criticism it's that the box takes a while to start up when you switch it on each day, but I'm told that a lot of Freeview boxes are like that. I'm getting used to it now, but that's why I rated performance at 4 rather than 5. The menus are all clear and easy to understand, and I like the way you can set up different folders for different genres or people; it makes it much easier to find the recordings you want. The remote control is one of the best I've ever used. Clear, big buttons with a click to let you know you've pressed it. Would be even better if you could programme it to control the TV too. I haven't used a lot of the features yet as I just haven't had time, but even if I never do use them I would be happy with the product for the price. This was a very good purchase and I'm very pleased with it.

I bought this used from Ebay, it sat around for a year odd collecting dust then decided we had enough of being overcharged by Sky for channels we can get free on freeview. Once i'd sorted aerial connection, i found it easy to set up & use. It has built in selectable rf signal amp (if needed) plus remote is fairly robust & logical. Also makes quality recordings to uilt in hard drive. It does take a while to boot up from standby but generally very happy with it, so recomended

i am not able to see new freeview channels like tvplayer, vintage, vutv. can anyone tell me whats wrong

AS ABOVE I have had two units but event the second over heated, so I have to leave it off!

A great product, however seems to be slow loading up and then freezing. Seem to have to unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in otherwise I get a purple screen. Changed the cable/port put no difference.

Maybe it's me but the channel listing is out of order and I can't seem to find a way of editing. Also the unit keeps freezing and I have to unplug for a little while before the unit will work again, only had the unit for 3 days and it's been unplugged about six times. Light on the front of the unit flickers between red and green and doesn't settle down, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't The programmes in the library sometimes won't open.

Keeps crashing/freezing and have to unplug it from the mains to reset it. Trying to start it mostly does not work first time.Freeview channels times curtailed.Space does not permit me to add more faults and the customer service is non-existent, they never pick up or reply to enquiries.Avoid.

Please, please don't purchase this recorder it's simply not fit for purpose. It has a mind of it's own only records what or when it wants too, often doesn't record at all, constantly needs re booting and switches itself off. The worst piece of kit i have ever bought.
