The light intensity from your wake-up light gradually increases 30 minutes before your set wake up time. Light falls on your eyes and increases the level of energy in your body, gently preparing your body to wake up. This makes waking up a more pleasant feeling.

The sensitivity to light differs a lot per person. In general, when using a higher light intensity a person needs less time to become fully awake. The light intensity of the Wake-up light can be set up to 250 lux. This makes sure you can wake up to the light intensity that suits your personal preference best.

Choice of 4 natural and pleasant wake-up sounds

At your set wake-up time, you will start hearing a natural sound or the selected radio station. It starts out quietly and takes a minute and a half to reach the volume level you selected. There are four sounds you can choose from: morning birds in the forest, cows from the alps, a cuckoo sound and relaxing yoga music. The gradually increasing sound will make the wake up process even more pleasant, ensuring you're never rudely awakened.

Rise and shine!

Love my wake-up lamp! I found it fantastic in helping me wake, and regulate my body clock, especially when working early (5am start) or late shifts. It really does make waking up on bleak winter mornings less painful - I think the warm glow from the lamp mimics morning sunlight remarkably well. I usually use the birdsong audio setting - despite reading complaints on other reviews, I really like this and find it life-like, especially since recently moving to a city and very much missing the sound of the dawn chorus. The dusk setting is also great in helping to wind-down. My only criticism - there was a fault with the halogen bulb & it blew after only a few months use (I think it's supposed to last a couple of years?) However I got in touch with Philips who kindly sent out a replacement bulb quickly & free of charge - excellent customer service, really pleased! :) ... especially since it means my lamp is now back in action - I really struggled without it. Details for buying replacement bulbs from spare parts dealer (GY6.35/100W/12V) - not available direct through Philips: Dutchwest: 01434 323 232 Last thought: Other reviewers complain about difficulties setting alarm & operations. I disagree - I found operations quite intuitive, and alarm-setting easy enough once you've worked it out (and it does come with simple instructions!). Also you have a choice of 2 alarm-settings, so I use one for weekdays and one for weekend lie-ins... simples!

Fabulous Wake Up Light

Highly recommended, my mornings are not the same as my long drery ones I spent stuck to the pillw. I feel totally re-energized even with less sleep and I feel less tired during the day. So happy I now have this in my life!! :)

Good morning!!!

I purchased this product hoping it could help me to wake up in the dark winter mornings! and it really does... I feel much better and awake than using the usual alarm clock on the mobile; it is for the light function. Some time I even wake up naturally some minutes before the actual ring goes on.
