Wake-up Light

It's a nice way to wake up in the morning with gentle light waking you up as the lamp grows stronger until your choice of alarm, and it's also a nice way to drop off too sleep with the light reducing over time.

Really makes a huge difference, especially in winter

I bought this lamp for my wife, she suffers from SAD and this lamp has transformed her day she wakes up to the sound of birds singing and the sunrise. this lamp has made such a difference, i recommend it to anybody that suffers from sad.

I really like the gentle wake up light and various sound options for the alarm. The radio is perfect too.

I do shift work and have used this product for over a year to help with my sleep to good effect. However now I have a 14 week baby I started using it to help her get to sleep a fortnight ago and it hasn’t failed yet. Brilliant

As I found it helpful to read other reviews before making my purchase, I thought I'd take the time to write one. I had read one or two negative points but the positives outweighed them and it had all the features I wanted and none of the gimmicks I didn't. I didn't really want to spend quite so much on an alarm device but it is a clock, radio and lamp too. Anyway, I'm thrilled with it. Firstly it DOES come with a UK main plug (something many others don't and don't tell you so you end up returning them). The light itself it very weighty (so it doesn't slide across the bedside table when touched) it takes up a fair amount of space but the dimentions are listed. The instructions are clear if you take your time and read them all through first. Some of the set up is done on the display at the front, some are on the top/sides. Absolutely everything can be set to your personal preference, the light intensity both as an alarm and a reading light (something I particularly wanted, many whilst wake up, can only be dim night lights), volume of sounds and radio (both very clear) duration of sun rise simulation 20-40 mins, brightness of clock display and this can also be shown as 12 or 24hr. On dim it is just about clear enough to see the time but certainly won't disturb your sleep. Snooze is fantastic, you can gently tap anywhere on the front so you don't have to wake up fully, put specs on and peer at it to see where a tiny button is for snooze. There are 2 alarms, I use one for work days other for days off so you don't have to keep changing it but it's very easy to do so if you need a third wake up time. The wake up light is excellent as it grows from a dim red, through orange and yellow to bright white (20 brightness options) and does this super smoothly (I'd read many cheaper brands ping on at 10% then increase by 10% increments which is not a relaxing way to wake up). Does it wake me up? Yes indeed and I'm usually facing away from it with the pillow blocking the lamp but the whole room is filled with bright light. You don't feel like the lamp has woken you, you just wake up naturally and yes, I do feel much more refreshed and am able (and willing) to open my eyes straight away and get out of bed. Another great feature is that the alarm sound (which only comes on at the wake up time not before) stays at the volume you set it to, so it doesn't gradually get louder if you don't get up. I really like this as I have it set to bird song (definitely a blackbird, not a fake one, a real one) and like to stay in bed for a couple of minutes and listen to it. At lowest volume it sounds like it's outside the window with the window shut. I had a very expensive wake up lamp years ago which did the job but this is better. The brightest light is also great for putting on my make-up on dark mornings and the mains lead is long enough so I can move it from bedside to dressing table. Well worth the money, would highly recommend.

I have now had a Phillips wake up light for about 6 years. Initially I had the older model but I dropped it in a bucket of paint! I only survived about 2 weeks before ordering a replacement. This new model is even better. It has 2 alarm settings which is great for work time variations. Also, there are more sounds on this one. AND THE BEST THING TO ME: you can adjust how long ahead of your alarm the light will start rising. 40 minutes used to be just fine with me, but now I find that it’s too long ahead and it wakes me up way too early so I have it on 20 minutes which is just right to get me moving when the radio goes off. Absolutely love my wake up light and couldn’t live without it any more. When I visit my family back home, I really struggle to wake up early if I have to!!! In terms of design, I always thought it looked great, but now that I have seen the latest models, I am in love!!

I wish i would known earlier that this lamp exist, it makes dark mornings so much easier and help to fall asleep much quicker by making sunset. love the natural sounds, really helps wake up with less stress as possible, as previously with phone alarm it seemed like my heard will jump out and run away. Lovely light, well done recreating sunset and sunrise. Bought one also for friends, they loved it too as they cant get out often and it can get depressed at home, so they really enjoyed this lamp and how warm it makes the room. Really good product, glad i got it

I really love this product. It doesn't make me wake up any easier than with regular mobile phone alarm but I still like it a lot. I thought that not being able to completely turn off clock light will bother me (it has a setting of light intensity from 1-4 so it can be dimmed but not turned off) as I'm sensitive to any light while I sleep but it doesn't.

I have bought this on sale and since I got it am happy with it.
