Portable DVD Player

With a huge amount of portable DVD players on the market, a lot of research is necessary to ensure that the unit you purchase meets your needs. I needed a good quality unit which would play various formats, have a good-looking large screen, have very good battery life & be able to be used in a car on occasion. With all these in mind, the Philips PD9000 met the requirements perfectly. The unit is solid, has a fantastic screen and battery and comes with all the accessories needed to easily connect it in a car, or even to a larger TV/Monitor. There are cheaper alternatives available that come without some of the features of the PD9000 - but once you add up the purchase of all the accessories needed to match the PD9000, you've spent more money than would have spent on the PD9000 In monetary terms, it isn't a 'bargain' - but it is a quality unit and meets my needs better than any other. In performance terms, it is excellent & I would recommend it to anyone else with similar requirements without hesitation.

Nice product, good price, easy to use but not necessarily 100% child proof. DVD lid is a bit flimsy and could be more robust. Mine has also developed a minor screen problem after just 6 months.

Deze portable DVD speler is natuurlijk prima voor kinderen op de achterbank van de auto. Hij heeft een 9 inch scherm en dat is uitzonderlijk, de meeste andere portable DVD spelers hebben een 7 inch scherm. Het scherm is echter niet zo scherp, dus als je er dicht op kijkt, en dat doe je met dit soort apparaten op schoot, zie je allemaal lijntjes. De meerprijs ten opzichte van 7 inch is ook wel erg groot, zo'n 50 euro schat ik. Goed geluid. De aan/uit knop gaat met een schuifje, die erg zwaar te bedienen is (voor kinderen). De deksel van de DVD speler gaat juist te makkelijk en daardoor vaak per ongeluk open (en dan stopt de show).
