PicoPix MaxMobile projector

having all apps inbuilt and storage and bluetooth capability and so bright in small package. super!

I backed it on Indiegogo 8(!) months ago and got it delivered only two weeks ago. It had become a running joke with my girlfriend... but in the end the product is really good and fully met my expectations. Great image quality, extreme portability, decent battery life (2.5 / 3 hours) and good app selection. The new software update has improved a lot the user experience and fixed the few bugs and annoying features of the product I got from the box. For the price I paid on Indiegogo, it was a bargain.

I have had luck to get this one on December as one of the first backers. And I have to say for what I expected it delivered. Please do not expect to get a performance of a fixed dummy projector. If you wanted a projector for a fixed home cinema it is not for you, as for the same amount of money you can get a better product. What I needed is a mobile device, on batteries that I can move around that is light but powerfull so i.e. I can do a bbq night in the park. And this baby is more than enough to deliver. It has around 3hour of battery life and you can extend with additional battery (not sold by philips) and be sure you have enough juice. The screen is native FullHD, meaning you will see a separate dot for each pixel on your canvas/wall unlike the ones that only support native FullHD input (meaning they can have HDMI input in full hd but will downscale and number of dots will not be per FullHD specs. The included software needs a work, and main complains are about software in aptoide store not working. But philips got youtube, Netflix and Prime Video working in full hd modes from the onboard android. You can always plugin a chromecast device and use that. - i use it in all configuratios. You will need a Chromecast device to cast netflix/youtube/ or any other DRM content because projector is not certified by google/netflix/amazon to allow DRM content casting, which is not a big issue for me. Good for gaming too, very responsive on PS4 and XBOX connected via HDMI. Btw, bluetooth does not work if you are using HDMI as source, so audio out must be used to connect external speakers. bluetooth is working fine if you use built in apps. Can't wait for lockdown to end, because we cant wait to go out and have a try on the grass.

The machine is small, super quick to set up and it is great quality. We link to a blue tooth speaker for better audio, the speaker is suitable for a small unit but using and external may help.

After having backed it on Indiegogo and waited forever to get it, I was very happy when it turned up and I got it to work immediately - pointed it a white wall, plugged it in and it automatically set the focus to a sharp, crisp image. After setting up wifi and logging it in to Netflix, I put it to the test. The image is great, the sound is tinny, so I’ve connected it to a sound bar. It is super easy to use, and I would recommend others to get it. When using the remote, remember to point it at the back of the projector - I pointed it at the wall a couple of times and that didn’t work so well...

I have been waiting for this product since i ordered it almost a year ago, thank to covid19 the waiting time has been even longer. To the comments already online i don't know if i am too late to help or if they are just trolling ( because they scared me to death prior to finally get my unit !!! , it was working when i got it last week and still is) also... it's written right there on the preorder website that you can send it back or get your money back if there is any issues, if it is the case the law is on your/our side. For the bluetooth and hdmi i can't help because i only use netflix with the projector and haven't try hdmi yet. For the noise i haven't been able to put my hand on a decibel meter, but if your unit was damage during transport it may be also related to this issue. For comparison, my girlfriend has the pico micro, she got it around october and that's why i got the max, i wanted something with a bigger kicks (also thanks to preorder and 50% off) , the fan noise for such a small footprint is normal, i never expected a cinema experience with this product, i just wanted a portable projector that could connect to external speakers, and it is what i got, great image quality for its size and more than 800 lumens !!!! , it is an astounding number for something that size. I am hoping that peoples who have issues with their unit can get it fix because it's really worth it and now my girlfriend hate me because of this (jealous much) but again it's completely worth it.

Ik heb mijn PicoPix nu meer dan een jaar en ik ben er nog steeds verliefd op. Ik heb mijn tv-scherm en abonnement weg gedaan en ik gebruik nu de muur in mijn woonkamer om op te projecteren. Het (android) app aanbod is ruim: Netflix, Disney, PrimeVideo, Youtube, Spotify, en nog veel meer. Je kan ook een website casten vanaf je telefoon, of je laptop aansluiten en Pathé thuis afspelen (Pathé thuis app?). Ik had hem eerst op de salontafel staan, maar ik vond het vervelend dat elke keer als iemand er aan kwam ik hem opnieuw moest richten. Daarom staat hij nu achter me tegen de muur op een vaste plek. Nadeel daarvan is wel dat je niet verder kan inzoomen dan 80% en je een erg grote projectie krijgt. Ik raad van harte aan om de PicoPix te koppelen aan een draadloos toetsenbord met touchpad om het gebruiksgemak vanaf de bank te verhogen. Ik heb daarvoor een Logitech met unifying usb connector gebruikt. Je kan namelijk maar 1 keer de bluetooth verbinding gebruiken, en daar heb ik mijn geluid al op zitten. Het geluid wat uit de projector zelf komt is op zich prima, maar ik ging voor het thuisbioscoop effect dus ik heb hem gekoppeld aan een JBL surround sound systeem. Je kan ook een bluetooth headset koppelen. Een enkele keer neem ik hem mee naar vrienden om hem daar te gebruiken voor een gezellige avond, maar meestal komen ze bij mij kijken. Ik leen hem ook wel eens uit aan iemand die er les mee geeft op locatie. Houdt er in dat geval wel rekening mee dat het een projector is en niet een beeldscherm; je zal de ruimte donkerder moeten maken om alles goed te kunnen zien. Gordijnen zijn nodig. Normaal beveel ik nooit actief producten aan aan mensen, maar mijn enthousiasme over deze krijgen mensen vaak van me te horen. Ik raad dit ook aan voor oudere mensen die een groot scherm nodig hebben om de ondertitels te kunnen lezen. Je zal dan wel wat doorzettingsvermogen of wat jeugd moeten inschakelen om de eerste installatie te doen. Veel kijk en speelplezier gewenst! Binnenkort ga ik eens uitproberen of ik er Just Dance mee kan spelen. :D

I've the predecessor of the Pico Max and I've been using this product for an couple of years, as an Trainer in IT. I've because of the small format used it also personal use, for Gaming with Laptop and Xbox One S console. I was amazed on 3-5 meters, I got an screen size on my Wall of 3,5 meters big. I'm totally in the Game or Movie. Amazing Philips. As an Dutch I'm more proud, to use Philips products outside the Netherlands, like shaver. Toothbrush. Awesome

Zeer tevreden met deze aankoop, voldoet uitstekend aan de verwachtingen. Oorspronkelijk ingeschreven op het ontwikkeltraject (crowdfunding) en het duurde even, maar zeer compleet en heb hem al goed kunnen gebruiken.

Geweldig product. Veranderde mijn privé leven voorgoed.
