Poor design and accessories; Sensotouch 3d was better.I always upgrade my Philips shavers when a new one comes out so bought this to replace my Sensotouch 3D. My main problem with it is not the shave you get, which is good - but that the design and accessories are worse than its predecessor.
It's not as nice looking as the Sensotouch, but the main problem is that the clean charge system has moved from where you charge the shaver by simply inserting it, to where you have to fiddle with it and click something down on the end as it now charges from the bottom, not from the sides. If you add to this no integrated long hair trimmer, your shaving routine becomes: fiddle to get it out of cleaning station; shave, swap heads, trim; swap heads back; fiddle to put it back in again. Just way worse than the previous routine.
Also, travelling with it is worse. No flexistand to stand it in; no brush; no head cover. All these came with the previous model. Just no thought to accessories.
And the new cartridges will be more expensive than the old bottle system.
Sadly I now am using a "hotfix"! I have just put the new, better heads on my old shaver so I keep the integrated trimmer, ease of clean and brush from the old system. *Sigh.* Hope you guys get this right in 2 years time when the next one comes out.

Lightweight but good performerCompared to my previous Philips shaver the build quality of this model is perhaps less robust and the trimmer is now a separate part as opposed to being integral to the body. Having said that, the shave is just as good if not better and cleaning it is a lot easier. You just run a hot tap over the cutting head and leave it to dry. Previously I had to do battle with the orange locking caps, losing some and not being able to fix them back properly in place. Once a week I use the SmartClean system which both cleans the shaver and keeps it fully charged.

Series 9000 best yetI previously owned a Phillip/novel aqua shave and thought it was the bees knees and when it started to wear I went looking for a replacement . Unfortunately I could not replace it for the same as I had so I bought the series 9000 wet and dry .I have used this for a few weeks now and was surprised to find that it did give you a very good dry shave but if you try it with a shaving gel/conditioner it really does give you a really smooth shave. The best shave my face has felt in a long time .?????

Not great for meWe bought 2 of these in the houshold - mine is difficult to get a close shave and can take anything around 20 minutes to get a reasonable shave. However, saying that, the other razor in the houshold, exactly the same model and age, used as many times as mine, gave me a better and closer shave in under 7 minutes this morning. Perhaps mine is just faulty - who knows

Good at firstMy father bought one of these shavers, I tried it and it was brilliant gave a really close shave so I bought one.
I have now had it for only four months and the shave on it isn't very good.
When I asked my father how he thought his was he said the same.
What started out to be the best electric shaver I had used is now not the case.

Great shave from a very quiet razorThis razor gives a very good shave. THE smattclean is a lot better than the messy earlier versions. THE only downside so far has been that the heads detach too easily and have a tendency to detach occasionally whilst shaving.

Worst Shaver ever.Have always used Philips shavers but this is the worst. Takes about 10 mins. to get a shave and even then not good results. Purchased last year and it screeches when shaving. Will have to use another company.

The trimmer is good but looses performance in few months needs to change to new blades and the cleaning device doesn't work well. The washing/blade cleaning device doesn't work very well and for me has stopped working after 9/10 months after purchase.
