It means that the Electronic Skip Protection (ESP) memory buffer of the player is empty. You may also notice some skipping of the CD. This happens when the player experience severe bumps or shocks over an extended period of time. This is normal and is not a malfunction. Place the player on a stable surface. When the memory buffer starts refilling, the message would disappear and the CD skipping would stop.
