How to improve sound quality and solve sound problems of Philips TV?

    Published on 2019-09-10

If you do not have sound or bad sound on all channels:

    • Check the quality of the incoming signal on the TV of your neighbour’s.

    • Splitting the signal will make it considerably weaker. If you use an antenna cable splitter: connect the antenna directly to the TV without the splitter.

    • Check your cables and cable-connections.

    • Make all your cables as short as possible.

    • Use only fully screened scart cables.

    • Use good antenna-cable.

    • Connect the plugs well into their sockets.

Check whether the sound quality has improved. If not:

    1. Press 'MENU/TV' on the remote control. The main menu appears on screen. If the menu does not appear, press 'A/D' button to switch between analogue and digital mode.
    2. Select SOUND and press the cursor button right. The sound menu appears on screen.
    3. Adjust the settings according to your preferences.
    4. Press 'MENU/TV' to exit the menu.
    5. If you see the mute symbol on the screen deactivate the mute feature by pressing the mute button on the remote control.

Check the connection with the audio system.

    1. Switch the audio system to the correct source.
    2. Turn the volume of the audio system up.

If you do not have sound or bad sound on one or a few channels, the problem is with the reception or the broadcasting quality of these channels.

    • Adjust the frequency with the cursor up/down in case of poor reception of the channel found.

    • Select STOREif you want to store the (fine tuned) frequency under the current channel number.

    • Press cursor right and confirm with 'OK'.

    • Press 'MENU/TV' to exit the menu.

    • Test Reception of digital channel(s):

    • Press 'DIGITAL MENU' on the remote control of the TV. The set up menu appears. If it does not appear: press 'A/D' button to switch between analogue and digital mode.

    • Select INSTALLATION and press the right cursor button. The installation menu appears.
