Recommend to men and women who grow beards. Good clean shave achieved every time , clippers are handy for longer hair, unit is easy to clean and is water proof. Replacement for existing Phillips shaver Phillips however have the worst product registration website that I have ever used

I bought my Series 3000 HQ7120/16 Shaver in October 2008 after I was unable to find a replacement shaving head for my previous Philips Model HS950/A which I had purchased in about 1997 and was still in excellent condition. Both units gave me wonderful and faultless service. After a recent noticeable decline in the period between charges from about 8 days to less than 2/3 days, I only replaced the battery this month after 7 years and it’s now back to 8 days, as originally. A battery life of 7 years for a NiCad battery is superb and indicates an excellent charging system. The shaver has given me very good both wet and dry shaves but obviously, after 7 years, it is now time to replace the shaving head, after which I expect the shaver to be as good as new in both looks and operation. The clipper is very effective and keeps the sideburns nicely trimmed and serves well in trimming my hair line. The easy and quick cleaning of the whole unit and the heads under the tap is a bonus but the mention of using warm water should be “hot water” to be more effective.

Had this for over a year and still using the same batteries !! I will not say that it shaves as close as a wet shave bladed razor but for every day use is perfectly adequqte. I do find that using pre-shave lotion does seem to give a closer shave. I would recommend this item to anyone that does not want to splash out on one of the more expensive razors.

Very attractive shaver.Very quiet in use,but more powerful than it sounds.Becomes less effective with use,and makes you feel that you must apply more pressure on the skin.The clipper is very effective and keeps the sideburns neat.The fact that you can wash the heads under the tap is a bonus.Lasts along time on one charge.
