Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 8500Rechargeable Toothbrush

The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 8500 has completely upgraded my brushing routine. From the first use, my teeth feel noticeably cleaner, smoother and fresher, while the brushing sensation is powerful without being harsh on my gums. I notice that when I go to floss now, there is less residue, almost none in fact. I really like having different cleaning modes and intensity levels, as it means I can choose something gentler for my more sensative molars, or a more thorough clean when I want it. The smart pressure feedback is another excellent feature because it lets you know when you're pressing too hard and helps improve your brushing technique over time. It glows green when you're applying the correct pressure, and purple when you're slightly over or under. The design also feels very premium. The handle is sleek and comfortable to hold, and I love the glass charging system, it looks much nicer in the bathroom than a traditional charging stand. The charging travel case is another big plus and makes taking the toothbrush along much more convenient. Battery life has been excellent too. Philips states that it can last up to 14 days on a full charge, and in my experience, it very much lives up to this claim. I've only charged it once between receiving my toothbrush and writing this review. The display and brush timer are also useful little touches that make the whole experience efficient. I usually select the normal clean mode which has a default 2 minute timer, though I usually press the start button again to brush a little more. The Sonicare app is a nice addition if you enjoy tracking your brushing and getting feedback, although I don't think it's essential for everyday use. The toothbrush itself does a great job without needing to rely on the app. The Sonicare is a premium product, and the price certainly reflects that, so it is definitely an investment. But, it's worth every penny in my opinion, this feels like a "buy it for life" sort of investment.

I’ve been really impressed with the Philips DiamondClean 8500. It gives a noticeably thorough clean and my teeth feel incredibly smooth afterwards, without it feeling too harsh on my gums. The different settings are useful, and the pressure sensor is a great reminder if you’re brushing a little too hard. The battery lasts really well between charges and the toothbrush itself feels sturdy and premium. It’s definitely an investment compared with a standard electric toothbrush, but the quality and results make it feel worth the extra cost.

I've had the Philips Sonicare Diamond clean 8500 for around a month now and it's easily the most powerful and thorough toothbrush I've used. The toothbrush is fantastic but not perfect in design, but what it does is better than any other toothbrush I've ever used. Right out of the box, the build quality feels and looks premium. The accessories that come with the toothbrush really outline that. It's sleek and feels a good size in your hand. It's not overly heavy and feels premium. The toothbrush comes with a charging glass (first time I've ever heard of this, but a great idea) which is USB connected, a charging (when plugged in) travel case, a A3 all-in-one head and the toothbrush body. The toothbrush as mentioned, is superb and gives a noticeably improved clean on my previous older generation Philips Sonicare toothbrush and I'm honestly over the moon with the 8500. There is a Sonicare app that you can download which utilises Bluetooth to connect to the toothbrush, this provides a brushing guide as feedback on how good your session went, and keeps track of your past performances which gives you a moving target to always improve on. I personally love this feature and every brushing session is an attempt to get the perfect brush - this can only be a good thing. The toothbrush also features a Smart Pressure Sensor Ring which illustrates the feedback of pressure applies from the toothbrush head, this is fantastic - I tend to use the phone app whenever I brush my teeth which provides live feedback, but if I'm not using the app then I'm watching the end of the toothbrush for the colour indicator of how much feedback I'm applying when brushing. So far the toothbrush will comfortably run for two weeks without charge. The charging glass that comes with the brush looks superb on the bathroom shelf, and the USB cable makes it easier and safer to power too. My only slight gripe is with the travel case, and I think Philips have missed an opportunity, but also made margin for error by A) not making the travel case a charging case B) providing a proprietary cable which is a two prong plug to a USB plug - as this is a travel case this cable could be easily lost and not easily and cheaply replaced. This could cause an easy room for error if the cable is lost during travel. The price point of the toothbrush is also a tough one to take on given it's valued around the £399 point. This is very expensive for a toothbrush in my opinion, albeit this toothbrush is the best I've used so far for quality, features and accessories. This is a premium toothbrush and reflects the premium price point in it's quality.

The DiamondClean 8500 HX8513/12 offers a solid brushing experience with good maintenance features. Cleaning is straightforward, and the battery life is excellent, making it very portable for travel. The build quality feels premium, using durable materials that suggest longevity. However the price point might be a bit high for some. Overall, it’s a high-performing electric toothbrush with a sleek design.

This is the no doubt the best toothbrush I have ever used - there are several moves including gum health, several speeds to optimise your clean, my teeth and gums feel so healthy and the charging glass is an excellent product. Really pleased!

I have been using Phillips electric toothbrushes for years, so I wasn’t expecting a huge difference when upgrading to the Phillips sonicare diamond clean 8500. I was genuinely surprised by how much of an improvement it is over my older Phillips model. The brushing experience feels much more refined and very effective. My teeth feels noticeably cleaner after every use and the brush is gentle on my gums while still doing that deeper clean. The battery life is superb and the design looks and feels very premium and the charging travel case is a great touch. I also like the smart sensor feature. It lets you know if you are brushing too hard and helps you improve your technique overtime. For people like me always rushing always rushing out the door this is amazing in keeping me check🫣 Overall I am very pleased with it and would happily recommend to anyone looking for an upgrade. I didn’t even realise I needed one and now I can’t part away.

Sincerely, am over the moon with this product, impressed with its outstanding performance. The build is premium and durable with its soft bristles on brush soft and comfortable for my teeth, still giving a thorough clean. I enjoy its the smooth transition to various modes, features to its settings tailored to use. Battery remains excellent, charges well between use . Overall, I know it’s well engineered to deliver a dazzling performance.

Absolute brilliant product best product by far for you’re teeth and gums, I’ve owned many electric toothbrushes but this does honestly beat them, the amount you can do with programmes on the toothbrush and on the app it’s everything you need in a toothbrush. My teeth feel cleaner and whiter, the design is sleek and feels good to hold. The charging is a new one to me you put the glass on the charging spot and just put the toothbrush in the glass to charge keeps it clean, the power is great been using it twice a day for 2 weeks still got half charge left so you can take away on holiday and not take your charger and you know you will be ok for it to last, my opinion get one you will love it

This toothbrush is excellent. It looks nice but more importantly it made my teeth feel super clean. My favourite aspect is that it has a sensitive mode which is ideal for my teeth, and I can choose between three intensities. I like that there is a cover for the head of the toothbrush, great for hygiene purposes. It also comes with a case for travelling, which I can also charge it from, which is ideal and very portable so that I don’t have to take the glass cup away with me. It is extremely easy to charge, the only feedback I would give is that a flashing sign like a lightning strike shape ⚡️flashes when charging but at first I found it difficult to see and didn’t realise it was charging. I would prefer the colour of the symbol to be brighter, perhaps a bright green to make it easier to see. The noise and vibration are fine, and especially at the lower intensity and sensitive mode which I prefer when cleaning my teeth.

It makes it very easy to see whether you’re applying the optimal amount of pressure while brushing. This is particularly useful when you’re new to using an electric or sonic toothbrush, as it helps you develop the right brushing technique without having to guess how much pressure to use. The charging system is another great feature. The included glass can simply be left in the bathroom, and when the toothbrush needs charging, you just place it in the glass and put the glass onto the wireless charging pad. It’s a really convenient and tidy setup, and there are no cables or connectors to worry about in the bathroom. The travel case is also well designed. It feels sturdy and provides good protection for the toothbrush, while still being reasonably compact. I particularly like that the brush head can be stored underneath the toothbrush, which keeps the overall case size down. It should be ideal for taking the toothbrush on holidays or business trips. It will definitely be durable. The brush-head replacement reminder is another feature I really appreciate. Rather than simply reminding you after a certain amount of time, the toothbrush keeps track of your usage and displays a countdown showing how many brushing sessions you have left before the brush head needs to be replaced. It takes the guesswork out of knowing when it’s time for a new one. The Sonicare app is excellent and adds a lot of extra functionality. The guided brushing mode helps you make sure you haven’t missed any areas of your mouth, which is particularly useful for improving your brushing habits. The app also offers smart ordering, meaning you can arrange for replacement brush heads to be ordered before your current one needs replacing. It’s a thoughtful feature that means you’re less likely to find yourself without a replacement when you need one. The battery life has also been excellent. It lasts long enough that I don’t have to think about charging it regularly, and the wireless charging glass makes topping it up really convenient. The toothbrush also feels powerful without being uncomfortable. The sonic vibration is noticeably different from a traditional electric toothbrush at first, but I quickly got used to it. It feels fast and thorough, and you can really feel the brush working across your teeth, while the pressure indicator helps prevent you from pressing too hard. Overall, I’ve been extremely impressed with the Philips Sonicare 8500. The combination of excellent cleaning performance, pressure guidance, convenient wireless charging, a well-designed travel case, brush-head reminders and the accompanying app makes it feel like a very well thought-out toothbrush. As this is my first sonic toothbrush, I wasn’t sure how much difference it would make compared with a traditional electric toothbrush, but I’ve been genuinely impressed with the results. It’s easy to use, packed with useful features and, most importantly, leaves my teeth feeling exceptionally clean. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their toothbrush.
