My wearable pump has a charging, battery, or power issue
If your Philips Avent Hands-free Wearable Electric Breast Pump won't charge, won't turn on, turns off by itself, or displays blinking lights, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Note: This troubleshooting guide is for the Philips Avent Natural Care Hands-free Wearable Electric Breast Pump (see the product image below).
Always use the original Philips Avent charging cable supplied with your pump. Power and charging issues are often caused by incorrect or damaged charging accessories.
Check that:
You are using the original Philips Avent USB-C charging cable supplied with your pump.
The charging cable is securely connected to the motor unit.
The cable is not damaged.
The power source meets the specifications recommended for your pump.
The USB-C charging cable supplied with your Philips Avent Hands-free Wearable Electric Breast Pump is specifically designed for the pump's charging requirements. Using a generic USB-C cable may result in charging or power issues.
Sometimes the issue is caused by the power source rather than the pump itself.
Try the following:
Check that the charging cable is firmly connected to the motor unit.
Check that the power adapter or power source is connected properly.
Verify that the battery indicator lights turn on when the pump is connected.
Try a different wall outlet or power source.
If your pump turns on but powers off quickly, the battery may be low.
Connect the pump to a compatible power source using the original charging cable, then allow it to charge (a full charge takes up to 2 hours).
A fully charged battery typically provides up to 10 pumping sessions (8 sessions for products available in North America). This equals approximately 150 minutes for the Natural Care Hands-free Wearable Breast Pump.
Battery performance naturally decreases over time with normal use.
Helpful to know:
Your pump automatically switches off after 30 minutes without button interaction or after 15 minutes in standby mode.
Your pump cannot be used while connected to a charger. Fully charge the battery before pumping.
See the images below for examples of the battery indicator lights.
Your pump may not charge or operate correctly if it becomes too hot or too cold.
If the pump has been left in a car, stored in a very hot or cold location, or has been exposed to direct sunlight, move it to room temperature and allow it to rest for approximately 30 minutes before charging or using it again.
Fast-flashing lights followed by a shutdown can indicate that:
The motor unit is too hot.
The motor unit is too cold.
The battery requires recovery after long-term storage.
An incompatible charging cable or power source is being used.
Allow the pump to return to room temperature and verify that you are using the original Philips Avent charging cable and a compatible power source before trying again.
If the issue occurred during pumping, allow the motor unit to cool down for approximately 30 minutes before using the pump again.
If the issue continues after completing all the steps above:
