Good features let down badly by a sole plate that sticks to many different fabrics despite regular cleaning
Good featuires on a well desgned comfortable to use iron. The performance is generally poor it drips water when hot and soleplate has a tendency to stck to many fabrics despite regular cleaning.
I cannot reccommend this model to anyone, and I hiope some of the other models perform better! Disappointing from a major supplier of electrical goods.

Would never have believed it gets this good!
I invested in the GC4440 as the GC4630 was not available in our country of residence at the time. I did extensive research on the the various types of irons including the professional types with semidetached water tanks and decided on the Philips. It's made my huge piles of ironing a pleasure as we often relocated and historically our things have sat in containers for six months at a minimum so I have no option when our linens & clothes land again. Well this little treasure WILL be travelling with me and not in any shipment! It's big but light to use as it glides over all the varying materials, the surface area it reaches shortens my ironing time, the steam settings give a big, variable range and this adds hugely to shortening my ironing time and that alone makes it pay for itself and the temperatures range from the lowest to the highest needed. My only complaint on the GC4440 is that the water tank is not bigger but if that's the worst of it, I'll take it any day! How can I get my hands on the silk and delicate linens ironing cover please???? It's mentioned with one of the other Philips Irons in the user manual. Another great Philips product, thank you!
