Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) is a mobile audio/video interface for directly connecting mobile phones and other portable devices to high-definition displays. An optional MHL cable allows you to simply connect your MHL-capable mobile device to this large Philips MHL display and watch your HD videos come to life with full digital sound. Now not only can you enjoy your mobile games, photos, movies or other apps on its big screen, you can simultaneously charge your mobile device so you never run out of power halfway.
SmartImage game mode optimised for gamers
The new Philips gaming display has quick-access OSD fine-tuned for gamers, offering you multiple options. "FPS" mode (First person shooting) improves dark themes in games, allowing you to see hidden objects in dark areas. "Racing" mode adapts the display with the fastest response time and high colour, along with image adjustments. "RTS" mode (Real-time strategy) has a special SmartFrame mode that enables highlighting of specific area and allows for size and image adjustments. Gamer 1 and Gamer 2 enable you to save personal customised settings based on different games, ensuring best performance.

Ein Must-Have für jeden Gamer!
Als ich das erste mal das Paket geöffnet habe dachte ich mir das der Aufbau dieses Gerätes mich aufhalten werde, doch nach genauerem hinschauen und probieren war es so simpel wie nie zuvor. Der Monitor wird einfach am Ständer eingeknippst und schon kann es losgehen!. Was mir sofort ins Auge gestochen ist sind die Fantastischen Farben die dieses Gerät ausstrahlt! Perfekte einstellung zum erststart (man kann sein Profil allerdings verändern wenn man nicht zufrieden ist und unter User 1 oder 2 Speichern). Was ich auch sehr gelungen finde sind die Optionen die man per SmartKeypad benutzen kann, zum ersten wäre damit die Menüführung die damit nicht leichter sein kann! und zum zweiten wären da die verschiedenen Optionen wie z.B der FPS Modus für den Monitor, er erhellt das ganze schwarze auf (was bei Battlefield so manchen Vorteil erschaffen hat), bei Rennspielen wird die ms angehoben! einfach toll. Zum Design gibt es zu sagen das es ganz schlicht ist und nicht wirklich was besonderes. Das tolle aber ist das man den Monitor höhenverstellen kann, seitlich bis zu 90 Grad drehen kann, und ein bissel nach vorne und nach hinten neigen kann, so ist für jeden die richtige größe Individuell einstellbar. Fazit: Wenn ihr ein guten Monitor für eure Games wollt (der Phillips 242G ist extra für Gamer) dann solltet ihr ihn sofort holen, ich bin sicher ihr werdet nicht enttäuscht sein über das Produkt.

Good gaming monitor but....
I tried 3 monitors before writing this review and 3 all have the same problem. and 'impossible to use the smart response with the refresh set to 144Hz. when you try to activate one of the 3 speed of smart response the monitor starts to flicker for me its a firmware bug.... waiting philips to solve the problem with a firmware upgrade

Display port can not set to 120hz . Nadia GeForce GTX 680 graphics card.
