widescreen flat TV

After over a decade of use this product has been faultless – the sound quality is better than on that of typical subsequent flat-screen sets (unless you also have a sound bar). We replaced it due to technolgical advances, it's now effectively obsolete but still does the basics well.

Muy buen producto. Lo único que he tenido que poner TDT HD para seguir disfrutando de ella. Antes se veía con su propio HD ahora ya no. Seguramente sea cosa de actualización. Por lo demás ningún problema.

Après 4 ans d'utilisation, il a fallut avoir recours à une intervention du service technique. Comme j'avais souscrit à une extension de garantie auprès du constructeur, Philips a pris en charge cette réparation. Vu le prix payé, le produit m'a déçu.

I was fairly happy with this TV til the 2 year warranty ran out, then exactly one month later the backlight failed. Not completely but it went off after 5 or 10 minutes leaving sound only. Sometimes switching off and on again worked for another 10 minutes, sometimes it didn't. By this time it was a discontinued model and out of warranty. The local repair man tried many ways to fix it, including taking spares from another set which had been struck by lightning but still had a working backlight. All attempts failed. So it was scrap after 25 months. By contrast the Toshiba CRT I bought in 1992 still works great. I won't be buying any more Philips products.
