Stylish tv with great features , sound is great And ambilight a real treat . Top buy !!

This is my second Philips tv and in both cases I've been amazed by the fantastic picture quality, in both standard def and hd. The ambilight facility is a great addition and once experienced I think I would find it hard to go back, experienced in a dark room it's truly immersive and if nothing else saves you a bit on the electricity bills...

picture quality superb. only issue is the over aggressive backlight dimming. it is possible to stop this but in doing so there is s slight decrease in picture quality.this issue is best seen if one part of the screen is "murky" the set turns the backlight down to far and this part goes black. make sure you leave backlight setting on normal not best picture and it helps. Also 3d a bit ropey (it is a 1st gen 3d set so understandable) Still no iplayer on this set despite assurances it will appear (i gather it is the BBC dragging its feet, but over 18 months and still not here!!) otherwise i love this set

Brightest picture, good sound and easy use. smart television use is poor, software is slow. sometimes the software switches to zero and all personalised settings are gone.

Wonderful picture quality, ease & simplicity of controls, good integration with home cinema and other HDMI DNLA devices. Perfect, spatial sound even without external speakers - not matched by any competitors, whose sound is "flat and empty" Ambilight is another goodie to have. Other TVs, even newer and maybe of better characteristics, are not as good and pleasant to watch as they do not offer anyhing similar Also I like design - not too fancy, maybe even conservative, but fits perfectly in the room. Comparing to the rivals - maybe a bit costly, but woth every penny spent.

Had this TV for nearly 6months now and still cannot believe how great the picture quality is!, the design and build quality are second to none and i would never buy another tv without Philips Ambi-Light technology, it really does add to the experience without been too intrusive. The sound quality is the best ive ever heard on any tv, the two bass ports on the back providing plenty of punch and extra clarity. This tv comes Highly recommended, will definately buy another philips tv without hesitation.

I have to rate my experience based on my second set as my first one had to be sent back on a number of occasions before it was decided to exchange that set. Since my second set arrived, I had a problem with a buzzing noise from the set that was dealt with in under a week through Philips. Once the set was returned, it displayed one other fault which was the sound dropping. I spole to Philips to advise them of this and then upgraded the software for the set and this seems to have done the trick. The picture is just stunning. I know of people that have had problems with their picture, like me with my first set but this has thrown up no problems at all. This is certainly the best set I have owned with a picture that is superb for watching Blu-Ray films. I use Sky HD and had problems with banding on my previous set, not a problem with this. Fast motion is handled superbly and where I had problems with smearing or ghosting on previous LCD's I have owned, it is not something I have had to experience with this set. The one thing I would say is that it does take some time to get the settings right. Once you do however you will be rewarded. This may not be the slimmest set available but the sound more than makes up for that. I don't think there is a standard LCD that can produce sound like this one. The only thing I have yet to really try with this set is 3D. Please therefore note that my rating is for normal viewing with no 3D.

Really easy picture set-up to suit everyone, brilliant picture quality, loads of connections at back of tv to plug in everything, best speakers on a tv i've ever heard in this price range, ambilight not a gimmick really immersive on a good movie, Overall a fantastically designed and performing tv for the price.
