Immerse yourself in a unique experience with Ambilight Active Frame! This patented Philips technology uses over 250 LEDs to create a multi-coloured frame of light around the screen, extending onto the wall. Ambilight automatically adjusts the colour and brightness of the light surrounding the TV to match with the picture, creating an immersive viewing experience. Experience a touch of magic with the Ambilight Active Frame.
Experience unrivalled sharpness and clarity with Perfect Pixel HD Engine. Each pixel of the picture is enhanced to better match the surrounding pixels, resulting in a more natural picture. The result is a unique combination of sharpness, natural detail, vivid colours, superior contrast and smooth natural motion whatever you are watching. Clean and razor-sharp images result from artefact and noise detection and reduction in all content sources - from multimedia to standard TV.
The Full HD screen has the widescreen resolution of 1920 x 1080p. This is the highest resolution of HD sources for the best possible picture quality. It is fully future-proof as it supports 1080p signals from all sources, including the most recent sources such as Blu-ray and advanced HD game consoles. The signal processing is extensively upgraded to support this much higher signal quality and resolution. It produces brilliant flicker-free progressive scan pictures with superb brightness and colours.

Benifits of Ambilight
I have previously owned a Philips Television with Ambilight (two sides) and whilst it was a good talking point it never really worked for me. However when I saw the Philips Aurea i imediatley liked the very modern design and when I tested it with it's four sided Ambilight then I understood the benifits Ambilight brings to your viewing pleasure. It expands the sensory perception of the screen giving a larger cinematic experience. Also for real cinema experience viewing in the dark it appears to help reduce the direct glare of the screen. I have had the set for a while now and it still impresses me, especially when hooked up to High Definition souces. Whilst the two light system seems to work for some and not the others everyone one I have shown this to thinks its great.
