excellent iron which makes ironing a pleasure!WOW! I'm impressed! What to be impressed about? It's just an iron? If you think it's JUST a humble iron, think again! After years of using traditional iron I got this baby and fell in love with it from the very first use. Believe me, I did hate ironing, it was one horrible chore I delayed as much as I could. Having two young children and a husband who needs plenty of ironed shirts and T-shirts I have to iron hundreds of clothes each week. It always took a lot of time. So I decided to find a better iron. And I found THE iron. it's so easy to use! It glides smoothly and effortlessly, has this amazing OptimalTemp technology which seems like magic to me. You don't have to adjust temperature settings yourself as the iron does it all for you so you don't need to sort your clothes into fabrics according to the temperature required to iron. I also love the idea that you have to keep a little button pressed to use the steam; it's very comfortable to use and that allows you to iron without steam no more burnt fingers for me! It's so light yet powerful and the performance is just unbelievable. I also love it that you can just leave the iron flat down on the ironing board (even on the garment) and this clever iron won't burn a thing! The iron has so many clever features which make ironing a pleasure! I'm always so excited when I start ironing and really can't wait to use it. And believe me, it's not an exaggeration when I say it really helps you to get through large ironing loads in (at least) half the time. This iron was the best purchase I made for my household and I do recommend it to anyone! It's well worth the money.

Continuing product faultWe purchased our original iron in Feb 2015 and in Oct 2015 the unit developed a fault with steam and water pouring from the sole plate.
The unit was replaced under warranty and in Nov 2016 the replacement iron developed exactly the same fault. On this occasion the unit was sent back for repair under warranty, within 12 months the unit has once again developed the same problem. We have lost all confidence with this product and will now look to purchase a conventional iron.

Life changingThis product wasn't my first choice, I must confess:)). One year ago while shopping at John Lewis, the shopping assistant tried to introduce me to the Steam Generator. Silly me, I didn't want to know, being convinced that an iron without the capacity of changing the heat intensity would never work. Almost a year after this, when my conventional iron has packed up, I made some research online and Tah-Dah! I read a review in which a lady was raving about how good and life changing the Steam Generator is and I've decided to give it a try. And IT IS LIFE CHANGING! In such a manner that I no longer take my bed linen to the cleaners but wash it myself instead, just for the pleasure of ironing it. The steamer works perfect on every type of fabric , from silk to wool and cotton. Never have to worry again about burning delicate fabrics. De Calc is so easy!
I don't normally write reviews , but I felt like I have to do it for this particular product, thinking that maybe someone will read it and find out, exactly as I did, that ironing could actually be fun!

I expected moreease of use and design no problems. the optimalTEMP technology is a great idea but I find when switching from a material that requires less heat to say cotton or linen it doesn't get hot enough and doesn't iron all the creases out.. overall not really happy with this iron.

a good iron if a little pricey.Although all steam generator irons are bulky this model is lighter and therefore easy to handle. it produces a good head of steam and it is unnecessary to change heat settings as these change automatically to suit the fabric. We live in a very hard water area and so it is necessary to empty the reservoir after each use therefore suggest you iron a larger batch of clothes rather than individual items. The easy-calc system is just what it says. If like us your water is hard do this at least once a week.

Faulty product with design defectPurchased this product in December 2014. It developed a fault in April 2015 with hot steam and water pouring from the base unit. Had to take the product back to the shop and it was repaired. Within a week it developed exactly the same fault.

This prouct does not iron out creasesI purchased this iron having read Which recommendations, it is the worst iron I have ever had in my life, it just does not iron the creases out. I have tried on both settings yes one can glide it over any fabric without resetting but very much at the expense of having lovely crisp garments. I have always prided myself on my ironing abilities and this iron really tests my patience. I wish I had never bought this iron. Do not buy.
