Troubleshooting

The beer tastes bad

1) The keg has not been used recently.
If there have been 7 days between two servings, the beer residues in the tube might have gone bad. The beer in the keg, however, can still be OK. Check the freshness indicator on the display for the number of days left that the beer will still keep it’s freshness. You should let the beer flow for a very short time and then serve the next beer.

2) The glasses were not entirely clean.
Clean the glasses in hot water with some washing-up liquid. Rinse them thoroughly with cold tap water to remove all grease and soap residues.

3) The keg is past its sell-by date.
Check the sell by date on the side of the keg. When the sell-by date has expired, you will have to buy a new keg.

4) The keg was used in the appliance longer than 30 days.
Once the keg has been opened, the beer will stay fresh for 30 days when kept chilled in the plugged-in appliance. Check the freshness indicator on the display for the number of days left that the beer will still keep it’s freshness. If the display indicates a dash and an exclamation mark or if the appliance was switched off for a longer period, the keg needs to be replaced.

5) The appliance was not plugged in the whole time.
Make sure you keep the appliance plugged in all the time. Once the keg has been opened and is kept cool, the beer stays fresh for 30 days.

6) The tap unit has not been cleaned.
The tap unit needs to be cleaned with hot water when the keg is replaced. As beer residues can stick to the tap unit, it is important that you clean the tap unit every time you replace the keg.

7) The tube has not been replaced.
It is very important that you replace the tube every time you start using a new keg. Not changing the tube can cause the beer to taste bad. A new tube is provided with every keg.
