Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wax or epilate before a Lumea treatment?

Before you use Lumea, you should pre-treat your skin by removing hairs on the surface of your skin. This allows the light to be absorbed by the hair roots.

Shaving vs Epilating

Short-trimming or mechanically epilating as pre-treatment methods are possible.

Waxing before Lumea

Waxing can also be used as a pre-treatment. However, if waxing does not give the desired result, choose another pre-treatment method.
If you are waxing, we recommend that you wait 24 hours to let your skin rest. We also advise that you take a shower before the treatment to make sure that all possible wax residue has been removed prior to treatment.

Never use depilatory creams as a pre-treatment method as chemicals may cause skin reactions.
