A great projector BUT IT DOES NOT WORK!
I bought the PicoPix from Maplin in Loughborough. I have spent about 5 hours trying to get it to work and two tech' chaps at the shop have also spent about two hours trying to get it to work. It will not accept a memory stick for a presentation I wanted it for.
I have also been e-mailing Martin at your office and he finds fault as well.

The product is great but it still needs some work
The product is great if you are only going to use it for presentations but if you want to use it as they are marketing it as.. (media/movie) player it still needs some work.
If you are playing a movie some times the sound its out of sink, and you can't use subtitles.
If you try to stream a movie from the internet its not really working, not sure if it because of the memory of if you need more buffer.. but it works for 5 sec and then it stops.

Great for a short while
I received this item as a Birthday gift 6 months ago. I use it for approximately 4 hours a week and the lamp has just began to fail. The lamp only shows a red image now as though one of the primary RGB colors has died.
The advertised life of the product is much higher. I do not know if it is because my item is defective but I will be phoning Philips tomorrow to find out how much it will cost to get the item repaired.
The rest of the device is pretty good. It's simple enough to use, I don't need to connect it to anything; just put my videos on an SD card and I am good to go. It is very small and incredibly light. The image quality is excellent, the focus is easily adjusted and does not take much effort to set up. I'd recommend buying a gorilla pod style stand for it for freedom of use.
I really did enjoy this projector, for the price tag it was acceptable, the build quality was great however after such a short period of time the bulb should not be failing. Ruins the entire experience for me. Highly disappointed.

Small, compact and ideal for small presentations or display needs
My review is based on my own experience to date and mine alone.
To date the PicoPix 3610 mini projector has performed reasonably well, the Mini-HDMI port is a big pain along with my recent find that you need a specific type of HDMI lead if you want to extend the length or replace the one supplied.
I cannot complain about the image quality, good enough for me from such a small projector.
Gripes include the fan, wow that thing is noisy when it gets going, but if you are running the PicoPix 3610 through an external speaker system you may not notice it, but for such a little device it packs out some heat once running for a while.
The picture focus scroll on the top at the front of the device is not great as it tends to roll back on it's self once you get it just right, this would be better as a software based function.
Good solid build and quality, a solid product in this respect, the remote is a life saver, without it the Android based user interface has a lot to be improved for simplicity, but it is usable.
I am happy with the internal batteries performance for such a small device like this, with a large drain on the battery to project such a vivid and light intensive picture the battery performs rather well, but a longer life battery would only enhance this product further.
The Wi-Fi screen share is pointless, I have a Macbook Pro and an iMac and could not get this to work with either, I tried the PicoPix wLink software and on the iMac using Parallels Desktop 8 and Windows 7 in a Virtual Machine, I could never find the device due to network visibility, and the Macbook Pro with W7 in Bootcamp could see the device but each time immediately showed a message "The connection timed out" so again pointless. Make a cross platform compatible software and all of this would disappear.
If the projector came with supporting cross platform Wi-Fi streaming software for all platforms (PC, MAC & LINUX) this would make this product a dream.
This projector has certainly been developed with the PC in mind and no consideration for the large number of MAC users in the UK now.
All round a superb product just a little ropey around the edges, hopefully the newer models to come will rectify the above.

Quick and easy set up and play
Took this out with me on a camping trip and it not only kept the kids amused in the car on the way there, but also one wet rainy night in the tent we pegged up a sheet, popped in the SD card and watched a movie in style (despite the noise from the rain). Won't go anywhere without it now.
Glad to hear that there is now a battery add on, because we had to mains power it in the evening in the tent.
