A handy scale for weight loss
This scale is quite useful for those trying to lose weight and one I liked using whilst attending a weight loss group. However, you don’t need to be in a group to benefit from this scale. Its design is quite sleek and its low profile means it easily tucks away under my bathroom cabinet allowing more floor space in my tiny bathroom.
The app was easy to download and the Bluetooth set up was very quick and simple with directions that are clear and easy to follow. The app allows for up to eight profiles to be logged so the whole family can join in. The only downside is if you work in pounds and ounces, you need to change the region of your phone to the US as the default is in kilos for the Europe, which then changes the keyboard of your phone. Being able to see your weight and particularly the body fat % straight away on your phone every time you open the app is an incentive and not information that is focused on at a slimming group. It is important to know your body fat % and this can offer motivation to eat more healthily.
When you weigh in, everything is entered automatically with the Bluetooth function making this very easy to use. The newsfeed is filled with reminders to weigh in, motivational quotes as well as informative short articles such as info about your BMI or ‘weight loss starts in the kitchen.’
This is a very handy scale with useful features. I would recommend it to either aid in weight loss or help maintain a healthy weight and body fat percentage.

On opening the box the scales looked large, sleek and modern yet fragile due to being made of glass but I found the size better for me compared to normal scales. Included in the box are batteries and four extra feet if you wish to use the scales on carpet. Personally I think its always better to use scale on a solid floor for a more accurate reading. The display is very easy to read and you can change from KG to LBS or even ST & LBS.
Connecting to the app is easy and quick, I use IOS on my IPhone.
Its amazing how easy the app is to use and how quickly it connects to the scales and I can see myself continuing to use them on a regular basis until I reach my goal. I also like the way you can have up to 8 user profiles.
The app can tell you how many calories you should have in order to keep your weight loss on track if you have a certain time scale involved. You can input how many calories you have had in your day. It keeps track of your blood pressure too although you have to input this manually if you don't have the Philips BP monitor which I assume you connect with Bluetooth. I like the weight graph on your profile page. It will be fun watching all the numbers come down and look forward to using the scale and app on a regular basis.

Scales are good, app is hopeless
Should be amazing but when my husband weighed himself, his weight came up in my profile, despite the fact we had created separate profiles. Now I've lost my starting weight and lost 2 stones in 20 minutes :(
Biggest problem is that the app shows everything in kilograms which mean nothing to me. There should be a switch to convert between kg and lbs but there isn't.
It also won't let you put in a target weight. So, for example, I want to put in a target weight of 10 stones. The app wants to know how many kg you want to lose. Who knows?!
Scales are good but the app is utterly useless. Will need to go back to using a pen and paper.
Am returning these scales.

Good easy to use product
I have had these scales for approximately 2 weeks now. Upon opening the box it is supplied with instruction booklet, batteries and feet for if the scales are placed on a carpet.
After reading through the instruction, which are only a few pages, I set up my scales. The instructions are easily readable and straight forward.
The scales are used in conjunction with the Philips Health Suite app in order to measure body fat. Mine was downloaded from android and the set up was very straightforward. This only took a few minutes, requesting basic details, ie. Date of birth, gender, height etc.
After switching on my bluetooth I stepped on the scales, the immediately switched on and gave my weight. Within a few seconds it starts to read my body fat. The scales gives a bleep to indicate the body fat reading is done. As i stepped off the scales it switches itself off within a minute.
Looking at my android device I noticed that the reading was uploading to the Phillips app, showing both weight and body fat.
The dashboard which displays these reading also allows you to input blood pressure and calorie intact, however at time of writing I'm still trying to figure out how to use the calorie upload.
For testing reasons I have stepped on the scales at the same time each day and the readings of the weight and body fat have been consistent.
The Phillips app also allows me to set a personal goal as to how much weight I would like to use within a specific time. Obviously this is down to me and my eating habits but having these scales will help me keep on track.

Serious about weight
These scales look very smart and feel well constructed.
The smooth black glass top surface is easy to keep clean, if a little cool to the touch.
It's easy to link the scales to the Philips Health App, which is also well designed. This enables weight to be tracked - for up to 5 individuals I think.

Firstly, it is a sleek, well designed, attractive product. When I remember scales from my childhood, great big clunky things, this seems to have come from a different world. An attractive addition for any bathroom. Both myself and my husband starting using these alongside the app. We both set it up and linked it with our phones easily, both with iPhone. The scales sync very quickly with the app and without any problem. You can change from kg to stones easily on the scales but I couldn't find a way to change this on the app but that may just be my tech skills failing me. Little daily insights and tips pop up on the app which we both found very helpful. I like the quotes too. The body fat measurer is excellent as it enables you to track your progress in more detail. We are both borderline to having high blood pressure so can take our blood pressure and enter it onto the app directly rather than on scraps of paper that normally end up lost. The BMI calculator is brilliant as it saves us having to work it out online. Everything we needed and more is contained within the app so we couldn't be more pleased with the app and the scales.

Nice looking scales
I love the look of these scales - got them in white and they are high gloss and sleek. They were really easy to set up and to link to the healthsuite app although I was a little confused as to how long I was expected to stand there for the body fat measurement as I assumed it would come up on the display and it didn't! Checked on the app (which could be improved) and the info was there though so that was fine. I try not to weigh more than twice a week so next time I got on I expected it all to be plain sailing but here's where the trouble started.... the scale had stopped synching as had another Philips product I was also using. I wondered if they were interfering with each other so removed the watch but it still didn't work. I'd read that you could synch manually after the event by tapping the scale but I haven't managed to make that work at all. I unpaired and paired the scales and the app again but no joy, I deleted the app on more than one occasion but I still can't get the scales to synch and I'm having to input the weight manually which kind of defeats the object!

A set of scales with an added twist
We've have been using these scales for a short while now and in the main have been very happy. Being able to sync the data with your phone so that you can keep an easy record of your weight and BMI is very useful and has made me check daily rather than yearly my weight. We did experience a bit of inconsistency with measurements when we first started to use the scale but found that if we just used them in the same place every time it gave a good guideline. Im sure if they had been placed on a solid floor rather than floorboards with vinyl they would have been more accurate.
The ability to record different peoples weight and have the scales auto connect with the app on their phone is very good as it means you can keep info private.
It would be nice if you could either pull info from other brands of connected devices into the Phillips app or export the data to others. But the app is nice and simple so you don't mind checking it separately.
Setting up the scales is very easy and the app installed without any problems on our iPhones.
