Home ip camera
I bought this camera by reason of price and brand plus the mode of operation, which seems to be different to many others.
Camera is neat and tidy in design and smaller than the others I use. I like it. But, I have a 200mbs fibre connection and this is easily the slowest to respond to view requests even on the same network, on mobile data it can take what I think is an unacceptable time to connect. When it does connect the view is clear and easy to see.
I like the on pc facility to view the camera and again another but. it is fraught with configuration issues I am reasonably tech aware and it flummoxed me. Reading helpfiles adds to the confusion. the main issue is Admin authority for the app to even install. It makes me wonder when these companies do their testing, probably in lab conditions rather than in a home user environment with slow upload speeds and temperamental routers and mobile phone issues.
It's a decent camera I won't be sending it back but will be exploring other options.

Complete waist of time and money
I own this since they were released about three years now, spent more time setting it up and trying to make it work, its laggy, slow and not reliable at all. I'm surprised and disappointed that you can buy such a poor quality product on apple store and get so little support. It's disgrace!!! avoid this overpriced product at all costs BTW last two weeks it's stuck on Solid amber light so i think i can finally throw it where it belongs.

Camera looking outside
We are in Spain. A lot of time and ours face looking out, it is a great way to see the weather and what is going on.
I am not interested i what is happening inside if we saw a burglar I the house what can we do,by the time we had called the police or our neighbour who checks everything he wouldbe long one.
Would love to have one where we could put a sensor outside so we can find how the temperature

Android app will not link to Dropbox
A great idea and neat product design.
Let down by a very poor Android app, which has numerous issues:
1) the app has problems when adding a new monitor, once the amber light begins to flash and you click next, it says you need to ensure your phone is on the same WiFi network as the camera. When you click on the OK it takes you to the previous page, so that you cannot add the monitor. Consistently does this on my phone, so I had to use my tablet (which strangely didn't show this problem) to add a new monitor.
2) the app will not allow you to establish a link with drop box skipping the security authorisation page when you log in and taking you back to the insight app so you can not then set up any alerts. This also prevents any security activated videos from being recorded nor will an email alert be sent. Thus preventing the primary aim of the cameras andvrendering them useless.

Small and functional
This product is brilliant and does what it says on the pack. Yes, if you are impatient it can be tricky to set up, but compared to the newer and (much) bulkier 'HD' version I would choose this one every time!!
I have disguised one as a branch of a tree and obscured one as an ornament, all without affecting their functioning, so I'm delighted with them.
If you're new to them, READ the instructions, CHECK your wifi setup and be PATIENT during setting-up for success!
Glad also that the Dropbox security issue has been resolved, even though it took a little while!

Alerts and video play back
I love this affordable camera system and have had one for 17 months and another two for 5 months.
I use mine in variouse positions to keep an eye on our cats.
loved the alert and video play back but that hasn't worked now for more than 4 weeks.
Philips first said that dropbox had updated due to a security issue and the philips engineers were working on a solution for early may.
I contacted them again this week and am now told that the "issue is currently down to dropbox" so emailed the dropbox team and have had a lovely email back apologizing for the inconvenience and that philips engineers have been working on a solution.
Mean while I have put on hold my further purchase of another twin pack but I am still using live video which is handy to see if the boys are sleeping,eating or bringing in their own food to share with us such as like the duckling we rescued from being played to death with !
Looking forward to the philips team getting on top of this little glitch.
