Rated 2 out of 5 by R722 Let down by bulky trimmer head/comb
Initially I bought this just to take off my facial hair to stubble when i left it too long to shave. So I never used the comb, and in fact even just stopped wet shaving because it was far more convenient and with the curved blade edges this is practically impossible to cut yourself. It served this purpose well.
However now I've been wanting to grow a beard and test out different lengths I have noticed this trimmer doesn't live up to its main purpose. Keeping a uniform length beard. For some reason you need to keep the trimmer at a very precise angle wherever you trim, now this causes issues because obviously your hair doesn't all just grow in the same direction (unless genetically you are incredibly lucky) but for someone like me who's neck goes all over the place this becomes difficult to manage, and harder still by the fact your'e looking in a mirror which has everything in reverse anyway.
As noted by others. The head is far too bulky to fit under the nose into the moustache area without pulling the angle of the comb down which then of course results in your taking off more length than you wanted to.
I believe there is an updated version of this model that has a contour following comb? is this the answer to the faults of uneven trimming?

Rated 3 out of 5 by juma quite disapointed with this product
I have to use a separate trimmer for edges and side burns after spending so much money on this product previously i used a much cheaper philips product and did all in one

Rated 4 out of 5 by fletch1 great way to keep beard neat and trim without making a mess
the great length adjuster stays at the desired setting and the vacuum feature really keeps shaven hairs that fall off to a minimum.
the cordless feature is a must for convenience and the charge last much longer than expected.
the only poor design is the hair catch door which does not stay closed
and so needs sellotaping down to stop it flying open and making a mess-hopefully Phillips will redesign this fault quickly

Rated 4 out of 5 by EL67 Good product with practical vacuum feature
I have always used Philips beard trimmers and I think that this is the best I have owned so far. It has a good grip, feels comfortable to use and it provides an accurate trimming. The vacuum feature is a big plus as it means that really avoid the usual mess in the basin!

Rated 2 out of 5 by faze Length is not 0.5mm
My main reason behind spending money on this trimming was because it was advertised with 0.5mm length, 5 o clock shadow look. Which is not true. Disappointed.
Wish Philips could have provided second set of blades for people who wants closer beard trimming i.e. 0.4mm

Rated 2 out of 5 by zelston Good looking but so disappointing.
I have used trimmers for over thirty years, this one is the best looking and worst performing one I've owned. If I leave trimming for over a week then it misses so many individual hairs despite going over and over the same area. Its impossible to use around nose/lip area except at shortest length with guard removed. I have grazed my lip on several occasions. Vacuum works fairly well and battery life is good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by jd123 Almost a good product
Looks good, and works reasonably - but the digital display giving you the cutting length has got out of sync, so it now shows 4mm on the shortest setting when it should show 1mm.
