Excellent charging time. Up to now only used dry.Prefer this shaver head to my other shaver which is the arcitec flex and pivot. Why no charging stand for daily use. A little penny pinching on a quality shaver. After using a coolskin shaver for a number of years can recommend the facility of a wet shave/gel for the more sensitive skin.

inexpensiveAfter my 3rd panasonic shaver failed (same fault each time) and all outside the paltry gaurantee period, I decided on the Philips, a quarterof the price yet 3 times the guarantee period, replacement heads also less than half the price of panasonics. Whilst it takes a little longer in the shower to achieve a good shave, I am happy with the result.

MrWell call me Mr Fussey but I have been a confirmed wet shaver for at least 55 of my 67 years. I have always stayed away from 'electric' shavers because I believed that they took too long to use and you ended up with an inferior shave.
With the cost of my razor blades seemingly going through the roof I decided to give this shaver a go, half expecting a poorer shave. What a suprise. Not only does the shaver take less time than using my old wet razor, it also gives a better shave. My wife has commented that my face is almost smooth enough to kiss!
I use the razor wet with shaving gel and so far its been fautless. I have used it for about 3 weeks so far and I am still on the original charge that I did when I got the shaver.
The only minor criticism is that the instructions suggest you wet the shaver before use but I find that means water runs down my arm and is a bit messy. The shaving gel seems to be sufficient lubrication.
Oh and could it be mentioned in the blurb when buying that you need an adapter in the UK before charging. Not expensive but a bit of a downer in that I couldn't charge the shaver for a few days till I sorted out the plug I needed.

Excellent wet shaver not so good dryI have used Philips rotary shavers for the past 37 years! While I have tried other types (foil and even wet shaving with a razor) I have always returned to Philips rotary. After over 15 years service with a 2 head Philips shaver I had to replace it and hence this review of the AquaTouch.
The AquaTouch attracted me purely because I liked the idea of cleaning it with water, but thought I might try wet shaving as well at least at weekends (when I have more time).
The wet shave was excellent. The most comfortable and closest shave I have ever had. Admittedly I was comparing to a very old and probably blunt shaver, but even so I am impressed. (..and even the missus made a comment)
The dry shave is however not so good. The shaver does seem to lack power, and you feel that you have to help it by using the recommended circular motion. Strangely, although this is true also when wet shaving, it seems less of an issue. Perhaps because the shaving gel helps the shaver glide over your skin?
I also find that if you dry shave the day after wet shaving, the shaving rotors are not properly dry and do not travel well over your skin. Likewise if you wash the shaver after dry shaving, again, it is not completely dry the next time you shave. As a result I tend not to wash with water after each dry shave and only do so when shaving at the weekend.
My other dislike is the fact that you can't use use the shaver when plugged into the mains. I guess because it is a safety issue when wet shaving. However with my old shaver it was permanently plugged in, and therefore charged, which meant you didn't need to think about charging it if going away for a few days. However the claim that the shaver will operate for 2 weeks on one charge appears to be true (at least when new). Although I recharge it usually once a week but it definitely lasts for 10 days, even with some use of the trimmer.
The flexing heads allow the rotary blades to follow the contours of your face, are excellent, helping to achieve a very close shave (especially when wet!)
The trimmer also works well and I personally would not buy a shaver that didn't have one.
The shaver also comes with a carry pouch which is a nice touch. I am fed up buying things like cameras, Kindles, phones, MP3 players where you are forced to go and buy a case as an additional item.
In summary if you intend to use the shaver primarily for wet shaving then I would give it 5 stars. If you are are still shaving with a razor then get one of these!
If you are predominantly a dry shaver ( I simply don't have time on work days to fiddle around with gel), then this shaver is probably not the best for you. Hence 4 stars.

Best Philips Shaver ever.I have owned "Philishaves" for years and have loved their shavers but the one thing I always felt was they they were not as close as they could be to wet shaves with Razors.
This model has now gotten within Microns of that feat and it gives a beautiful smooth shave. The flexible heads are comfortable and don't pressure the skin.
Mechanism is easy to use it charges quickly and the performance is excellent with good battery life.
My only wish is that we could have the old battery indicator back from the models in the 90s.
